Mumbai – The city that never sleeps!
We start our journey from where it all started for Capgemini in India way back in the year 1997 - the bustling metropolis of Mumbai! The Maximum City continues to hold a very special place in the Capgemini India story as this center has been witness to our growth:
- We took off with 250 engineers in a tiny office at Nariman Point, the premium business hub in Mumbai
- Steadily expanded our operations in the suburbs of Vikhroli
- In April 2016, the inauguration of the Capgemini Knowledge Park in Airoli marked an important milestone in our growth trajectory. This 50-acre facility will house 30,000 employees once it is fully operational by 2018.
Its the journey... from Arcadia Office in Nariman Point to Capgemini Knowledge Park in Airoli
Mumbai center is clustered within the three suburbs namely, Airoli, Andheri and Vikhroli
What started more than 15 years ago as a back-office operation, progressively expanded into eight different offices within the city accounting for more than 25,000 colleagues. Undoubtedly, Mumbai has become home to the second largest conglomeration of employees in India for The Group!

The Airoli cluster is made up of four offices all located within a distance of 10-15 mins from each other. This consists of two campuses namely, STPI and SEZ along with two offices in the Mindspace and Gigaplex business hub. Situated in the heart of Navi Mumbai’s knowledge corridor, these facilities are well connected to national highways, and are easily accessible from the nearest local railway stations of Airoli and Thane. The upcoming International Airport in Navi Mumbai will also be a 30-minutes drive from these offices.

In Andheri, our Ackruti office is located in the Santacruz Electronics Export Processing Zone (SEEPZ), a Special Economic Zone that houses varied businesses from jewellery to IT.
SEEPZ enjoys very good road connectivity thanks to the strong Mumbai BEST public bus transport. It is also easily accessible from Andheri local and metro railway stations as well as the international and domestic airports which are at a driving distance of 20-25 minutes.
The Vikhroli facilities comprise three offices commonly referred to as M3, M4 and M7. These offices are located within the serene Godrej IT Park. The campus is nestled between Vikhroli and Ghatkopar railway stations and the connectivity is boosted with its proximity to the Eastern Express Highway and the Mumbai Metro rail.

Our Business Units and strategic clients
The Mumbai center is home to colleagues from all Business Units and functions of The Group. Some of our long-standing client engagements are served from Mumbai.
State-of-the-art infrastructure ensuring sustainability
With approximately 25,000 team members working out of Mumbai on a daily basis, the facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure to ensure everyone’s comfort and safety at work. The center is also secured 24x7 with access control systems, CCTV cameras, perimeter security and biometrics monitoring, to ensure safety and security of all team members.
Our facility team has undertaken several initiatives to ensure environment sustainability. Some of the noteable ones in our Mumbai center are as follows:
- Installation of solar panels in our Airoli campus daily generates 500 KwH of power which is used in lighting the cafeteria, parking areas, gardens and pathways.
- The level of water consumption has reduced by 20% by investing in simple techniques such as press taps, using recycled waste water for landscape and toilet flushing.
- On the waste management front, garbage segregation has helped promote recycling and thereby, lesser amount of waste is being sent to the landfills. Also, the electronic waste generated across our Mumbai center is entirely recycled.
