We are looking to hire Legal Counsel - Employment Laws with 4 – 6 years of exp in Mumbai location


Roles & Responsibilities:


The candidate must be a qualified lawyer, having Degree of Law (LL.B.) from a reputed university, and should have a post qualification experience of at-least 4- 5 years  as an in-house counsel with a reputed organisation preferably in IT/ITES sector. The Candidate should have experience in employment laws, immigration and human resources related matters. Experience in dealing with litigation matters will be an added advantage.


The job description includes:


1. To provide legal advice to human resource and other business units concerning a broad range of labour, compliance and employment issues.

2. Tracking compliances that company need to adhere to.

3. Drafting/ reviewing of employment-related policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks.

4. Should have in- depth understanding and knowledge in organizational compliances preferably in the area employment laws and premises related laws.

5 Understand business nuances and employment policies and procedures on a regular basis and recommend necessary changes as appropriate.

6. Providing support in litigation, drafting of notices and other ancillary document

Experience: 4 - 6 years

Primary Skills (Must have)

1. Consistent, high quality support to the HR team and all other internal clients.

2. Support in employee communications and other documents; research papers and should be able to discuss and interpret relevant laws, regulations, and case law.

3. Other general responsibilities may include


i.          Assisting to prepare training materials for their HR and business clients;

ii.         Handling of information requests and other routine legal matters;

iii.        Preparation of presentation on relevant legal issues and queries.


4. The duties of this position will include working on long-term planned tasks as well as short-term projects that arise from diverse requests for legal support.

5. That candidate needs to work independently and thoroughly research the issue, and analyze, organize and summarize the data into a well-written legal memorandum. 

6. Support any other corporate matters including assisting legal units in other jurisdiction on need basis.
