Job Description: Candidate should have strong exposure towards MAVEN and proven track record of tool implementation, administration and support of one or more of the tools like Jira, Confluence, Stash, HP Quality Center, Nexus Pro, Parasoft Virtualise or SonarQube.

Job Specifications:

The Tools Specialist/Engineers will be responsible for support & maintenance of a range of centralised tools and desktop deployed products used by Technology teams across the group. Team members are part of the Development Tools & Technology Change and Strategic Initiatives team, reporting to its leader with a dotted line into the Principal Engineer (who will determine technical strategy). Amongst other things the team are responsible for delivering and improving Barclays Agile & DevOps focused toolsets. The Tools Engineers are expected to support those goals through their expertise and their ability to work as part of a team to deliver technical change in an Agile manner.

Key tools include: Atlassian Jira, Confluence, Stash. HP Quality Center, Nexus Pro, Parasoft Virtualise, SonarQube

Main Function:

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·         <!--[endif]-->Installation and Configuration management of centralised shared tool services such as licence servers, databases, application services and the infrastructure that underpins these

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·         <!--[endif]-->Packaging of tool components

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·         <!--[endif]-->Analysis of Tool Application & Infra Monitoring, and supporting Service Delivery teams with service restoration if and when required

Primary Skills (Must have):

  • · Candidate should have strong exposure towards MAVEN
  • · A proven track record of tool implementation, administration and support of one or more of the tools listed above, this should include interaction with tool vendor support and account management teams
  • · Strong trouble shooting skills
  • · An understanding of software development lifecycles and disciplines and how tools can enable better development practice
  • · An understanding of change management disciplines, including Agile project delivery
  • · An excellent command of English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • · The ability to work effectively as a member of a global team.

        He/She will also be a team player, flexible in relation to requirements of the team and be able to work on their own initiative. 

       Shift working will be required to provide cover for test teams in the US, EMEA and Asia Pac time zones. Occasional out of hours working for upgrades and outage remediation will also be required.

  • · IT related degree
  • · ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management (V2.0 or V3.0)
  • · Formal certifications in the test tools listed above
  • · SDLC tool, Windows/Unix server, MS SQL and Oracle administrator level skills
  • · Experience of OS, middleware and software product patch application
